Garrett Jones
Outfield/Hitting Coordinator

A veteran of eight Major League Baseball seasons, Coach Garrett Jones brings extensive big-league knowledge, power-hitting expertise, and elite professional experience to the organization.
Drafted out of Victor J. Andrew High School in Illinois by the Atlanta Braves in the 14th round of the 1999 MLB Draft, Garrett spent several years developing in the minor leagues before making his Major League debut with the Minnesota Twins in 2007.
Garrett enjoyed his breakout years as a primary first baseman and corner outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates, where he became a fan favorite and reliable power hitter. In 2009, he earned National League Rookie of the Month honors after hitting 10 home runs in his first month with Pittsburgh. Over five seasons with the Pirates, he consistently drove in runs, highlighted by a career-high 27 home runs and 86 RBIs in 2012 and famously became the first player in franchise history to hit a home run completely out of PNC Park and into the Allegheny River on the fly.
Throughout his 864-game Major League career, which included stints with the Minnesota Twins, Pittsburgh Pirates, Miami Marlins, and New York Yankees, Garrett amassed 122 home runs, 400 RBIs, and over 700 hits. He later played abroad for the Yomiuri Giants in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) before transitioning into coaching.
Coach Jones uses his years at the sport's highest level to mentor hitters, teaching the mechanics, plate discipline, and professional approach required to excel at every level of the game.
